James J. Wegmann
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Jim was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. During his tenure in the Marine Corps, Jim "Mongo" Wegmann served as an A6E Intruder Bombardier Navigator in VMA(AW)-121 and VMA(AW)-242 out of MCAS El Toro, California. After being accepted to the Marine Corps Funded Law Program, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from Oklahoma City University School of Law and performed duties as a a Judge Advocate in a variety of billets to include, Chief Legal Assitstance Officer, Senior Defense Counsel; Special Assistant US Attorney, Civil Law and Director of the Tax Center.
In 1997, Mr. Wegmann joined his fellow former Marine and long term friend, Larry W. Weidner, II in private practice. Mr. Wegmann is licensed in State Courts of Texas, State and Federal Courts of South Carolina and the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Mr. Wegmann's areas of Practice include:

Mr. Wegmann serves as counsel to a variety of business entities, individuals, families and charitable/non-profit organizations. Mr. Wegmann is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Greater Beaufort Chamber of Commerce and has been general counsel for the local Chamber for 12+ years. Mr. Wegmann currently serves as the Chairman of the Beaufort Military Enhancement Committee (MEC). The MEC is chartered to enhance the military-community relationship in Beaufort County. The Tri-Command, MCRD Parris Island, MCAS Beaufort, and Naval Hospital Beaufort, is a national asset with military facilities capable of expansion to increase cost-efficiency, joint-basing and training opportunities, and military value. Mr. Wegmann also currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of the South Carolina Military Base Task Force.
